Gregory Wayne Abbott is an American politician, attorney, and former judge who has served as the 48th governor of Texas since 2015. He previously served as Texas attorney general (2002–2015), and earlier as a justice of the Texas Supreme Court and a state district judge in Harris County. Abbott earned a BBA in finance from the University of Texas at Austin and a JD from Vanderbilt University Law School. He is married to Cecilia Abbott and they have one daughter, Audrey.
